Scenteq — scenting spaces

Entrance & lobby scenting

The first breath, before anyone speaks.

Entrance scenting for lobbies, atria and front doors — specified for constant door movement, cold inbound air and the few seconds that set the tone for everything after.

What is entrance scenting?

Entrance scenting is an ambient fragrance system designed for the doors, lobby and arrival volume of a commercial building, where constant door movement and cold inbound air dilute scent faster than anywhere else on site. Systems are sized on cubic volume rather than floor area, placed with the supply air so fragrance is carried inward, and scheduled to run harder through arrival peaks. Standalone units cover up to 500m²; HVAC or AHU integration covers up to 1,000m².

  • Sized on volume — double-height atria need more than the floor plan suggests
  • Standalone £599 ex VAT or £59/month; HVAC or AHU £799 or £99/month
  • Hardware discreet or fully concealed in plant and ceiling voids

The problem

What makes this space different

An entrance is the hardest place in a building to scent well. Doors open constantly, inbound air is cold and unscented, and the volume above head height is usually double what the floor plan suggests.

Under-dose and the scent disappears the moment the door swings. Over-dose and the first impression is the fragrance rather than the building.

Coverage

Areas we specify

  • Main entrances, revolving doors and air-lock lobbies
  • Double-height atria and stair voids
  • Lift lobbies and circulation immediately beyond the doors
  • Concierge, security and welcome desks
  • Covered arrival canopies and porte-cochères

Our approach

How we get it right

Sized on volume, not floor area

Atria carry height. We size on cubic volume and on how often the doors actually open, not on the square metres printed on the plan.

Placed where the air moves

Diffusion sits with the supply air, so scent is carried into the space rather than pushed straight back out through the doors.

Stronger on arrival, softer after

Output is scheduled up through arrival peaks and back down when the building settles, so nobody working nearby lives with a peak setting all day.

FAQs

Entrance scenting: FAQs

Will the scent escape every time the doors open?
Some will, which is why entrances are dosed differently from interior rooms. We place diffusion with the supply air and commission at the threshold as well as inside, so the arrival still reads once the doors settle.
Do double-height atria need a bigger system?
Often, yes. Coverage is a function of volume, so a 400m² atrium at seven metres behaves like a much larger room. We calculate it before quoting rather than assuming.
Can the entrance and the rest of the ground floor share one scent?
Yes, and it usually should. Where reception, lift lobby and entrance share air or plant, one specification keeps the whole arrival consistent.
Is any hardware visible to visitors?
Standalone units are compact and sited discreetly; HVAC and AHU installations put the equipment in plant or ceiling voids, so front-of-house stays clear.
