What is HVAC scenting?
HVAC scenting is ambient fragrance delivered through a building's existing heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. A cold-air diffusion unit doses the supply air inside the ductwork, so scent travels with conditioned air to every zone that duct serves — even coverage, no visible hardware in the occupied space, and one central point for servicing. Scenteq systems cover up to 1,000m² at £799 ex VAT outright or £99 per month all-inclusive.

What HVAC scenting is
HVAC scenting delivers ambient fragrance through the ventilation infrastructure already serving your building. Rather than placing individual diffusers in each room, professional diffusion equipment is integrated with the air distribution system so fragrance travels with conditioned air to the areas you want covered.
It suits larger commercial spaces — buildings where standalone units would either be too numerous to manage or too localised to give a consistent result. Because the delivery mechanism is the building itself, coverage is even, equipment stays out of sight, and the whole scheme can be planned, zoned and serviced centrally.
Every installation is preceded by a consultation. Airflow, duct configuration and operating patterns differ in every building, and the specification follows the assessment rather than a standard product list.

- Can scenting be integrated into our existing HVAC system?
- In most cases yes. Integration depends on duct layout, airflow, access and the condition of existing plant, all of which we assess during the consultation before specifying anything.
- Can different areas of the building have different scents?
- Where the building is served by separate zones or units, yes. Zoning determines what is achievable, so this is confirmed at consultation stage rather than assumed.
- Is HVAC scenting suitable for an occupied building?
- Yes. Installation is normally staged around occupancy and carried out outside core hours, with commissioning completed once access to plant areas is available.
- How is intensity controlled?
- Intensity is set at commissioning based on airflow and volume, then scheduled by time of day or occupancy. It can be adjusted after a period of real use.
- What maintenance does an HVAC scenting system need?
- Scheduled servicing and fragrance replenishment at intervals set by system size and operating hours, plus periodic checks of diffusion equipment and settings.
- How does it compare with standalone diffusers on cost?
- It varies by building. HVAC integration involves more up-front engineering; standalone units cost less initially but multiply across a large estate. We set out both options after the consultation.
